Contest: The Tricksters, by Margaret Mahy

It’s my birthday today (December 1) and Christmas is coming up, I thought I would hold a little contest.

The Tricksters by Margaret Mahy, a tale of a New Zealand Christmas being invaded by three brothers who are not quite normal, and by New Year everything has changed. Are the Carnival brothers ghosts, creations of the imagination come to life, or just three human tricksters? No one really knows – especially the middle daughter, Harry, who finds herself caught up in the middle of the three, and each for very different reasons.

Since I am keen to promote New Zealand YA1, and this is not only one of my favourite New Zealand books, but one set at Christmas, I thought it would make a good prize for a Christmas contest!

So, some contest notes:

  • I will be purchasing a copy of The Tricksters from The Book Depository, so entry is open to all countries it delivers to (which is a heck of a lot).
  • You can earn extra entries through following, blogging etc. More information can be found on the entry form.
  • This contest closes at 9pm on Tuesday December 15, New Zealand time, which means it’ll end at 3am on December 15 in EST.

To enter, please fill out this form and follow the instructions inside for extra points. Please note that this is my first time using Google forms for something like this, so if it is borked, please let me know.

Other than that… good luck!

  1. Guardian of the Dead, by Karen Healey, is a totally awesome New Zealand urban fantasy out next year. Hint, hint. Also, Karen Healey’s favourite Mahy book, IIRC, is The Changeover. []

Happy belated birthday, and thanks for the giveaway! I hadn’t heard of this book before, but I *love* The Changeover.
